Historic Bini shell building set for upgrade

The beloved Bini shell structure at Killarney Heights Public school - obviously the inspiration for the Sydney Opera House - is slated for an upgrade.

The concrete building has stood the test of time, well, except for a few leaks when it rains, and used to be used as a voting place by local lovers of democracy and Liberals.

The new building bares only a slight resemblance to the original but it's hoped that after a few years the hard edges will wear off and the much loved round shape will emerge.

Presumably it will be fitted out with bright orange light fittings and the conversation pit will be once again put to good use.

Update

The Bini shell is no more. It still exists in the arial view on Apple Maps though, at least for now.
